Travel Beyond the City, at Your Own Pace
A day beyond the city can introduce you to another side of Switzerland: a historic town, an alpine community, a mountain railway, a quiet lake, a family-run producer, or a landscape shaped by stories and traditions.
Beginning in Zurich or elsewhere in Switzerland, we create private day tours and multi-day journeys around the places that interest you and the way you prefer to travel.
Your experience may follow one of Switzerland’s celebrated scenic routes or lead towards places you might not have considered. Some journeys focus on a particular destination, while others bring together landscapes, communities, transportation, and cultural experiences along the way.
Travel by train, boat, mountain railway, private vehicle, or a carefully considered combination. Depending on the itinerary, Samantha, another guide from our Zurich team, or knowledgeable local guides may accompany you.
Tell us where your journey begins, how much time you have, and what has sparked your curiosity. We will recommend a route that feels rewarding without trying to fit too much into the day.

Day Tours
from Zurich
Travel beyond Zurich towards lakes, mountains, historic towns, waterfalls, rural landscapes, and communities with their own distinct character.
Depending on the direction and time available, a private day tour may introduce you to Lucerne, the Rhine Falls, Eastern Switzerland, Bern, Central Switzerland, Appenzell, or another destination within comfortable reach.
Most day tours beginning in Zurich last between eight and ten hours. The experience may return to Zurich or, when it suits your wider itinerary, finish in another destination.
Day Tours from Other Swiss Destinations
Your exploration does not need to begin in Zurich. We arrange private day tours beginning in Lucerne, Bern, Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, Interlaken, St. Moritz, Zermatt, and other destinations.
A locally based guide can help you explore the surrounding region without spending unnecessary time returning to Zurich.
The possibilities will depend on where you are staying. From Lausanne, your day might lead towards Lavaux or Lake Geneva; from Interlaken, into the valleys and communities of the Bernese Oberland; from Lugano, towards Bellinzona, lakeside villages, or the landscapes of Ticino.

Explore Switzerland by Region
Different Landscapes, Different Stories
Switzerland’s regions are connected by efficient transportation, yet each has its own languages, traditions, histories, architecture, food, and relationship with the surrounding landscape.
The ideas below are starting points, not fixed itineraries. What you can include will depend on where you begin, the season, operating schedules, weather conditions, and the time you have.

Central Switzerland
Discover a region where lakes, mountain passes, pilgrimage routes, historic communities, and stories connected to the origins of the Swiss Confederation come together.
A journey may include Lucerne, Lake Lucerne, Mount Rigi, Mount Pilatus, Einsiedeln, or smaller communities around the lake.
Depending on your interests, the day can combine history and culture with a mountain railway, a boat journey, a scenic viewpoint, or a gentle walk.

Bern & the Bernese Oberland
Travel towards Switzerland’s capital or continue into a region of lakes, alpine valleys, mountain communities, and long-established tourism traditions.
Your experience may focus on Bern and its surrounding countryside, or lead towards Thun, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, or another part of the Bernese Oberland.
The best route depends on your starting point, the season, and whether you want to prioritize local culture or time in the mountains.

Northern Switzerland & the Rhine Falls
Follow the Rhine towards waterfalls, medieval towns, vineyards, fortifications, and places shaped by trade and changing borders.
Possible destinations include the Rhine Falls, Schaffhausen, Stein am Rhein, and communities along the river.
The region offers a rewarding mix of natural scenery, historic architecture, local stories, and wine-growing landscapes.

Lake Geneva & Western Switzerland
Discover a region shaped by vineyards, lakeside communities, medieval sites, diplomacy, watchmaking, and French-speaking Swiss culture.
Beginning in Geneva, Lausanne, or another nearby destination, your journey might include Lavaux, Montreux, Chillon, Gruyères, or communities along Lake Geneva.
Wine, regional food, historic sites, and scenic transportation can form part of the experience.

Eastern Switzerland & Liechtenstein
Explore a culturally distinctive part of Switzerland shaped by textile traditions, monasteries, rural communities, mountain landscapes, and its proximity to several national borders.
Depending on your starting point and available time, a journey may include St. Gallen, Appenzell, the Walensee, the Rhine Valley, or the Principality of Liechtenstein.
You can incorporate local food, craftsmanship, scenic routes, and regional traditions when relevant.

Southern Switzerland - Ticino
Experience Switzerland’s Italian-speaking south through lakeside towns, stone villages, historic castles, subtropical gardens, mountain valleys, and a noticeably different rhythm of life.
From Lugano, Locarno, or Bellinzona, a private day tour can explore the region’s history, architecture, landscapes, food, and relationship with neighboring Italy.
Some experiences are best enjoyed slowly rather than as a long day trip from Zurich.

Mountain Passes - Summer Only
Follow winding mountain roads through high alpine landscapes, where dramatic peaks rise above glacial valleys, turquoise reservoirs, and historic routes that once connected distant regions.
Along the way, you can stop at scenic viewpoints, explore small mountain villages, and enjoy short walks surrounded by spectacular summer scenery.
Passes such as the Furka, Grimsel, Susten, or Gotthard can form part of a memorable journey, depending on seasonal openings, weather, your starting point, and the time available.
